How To Add Fitness To Your Busy Schedule

We all know that maintaining an active lifestyle should be on the top of your priority list in life. Only by taking care of ourselves do we stand a chance of being the kind of person we strive to be on the job, at home, with our loved ones, and in our society.

But that doesn’t make it any easy. Our everyday schedule usually gets in our way of trying to take out time to work out. But as we all know that how necessary it is to stay fit and healthy, we must fit in a quick workout for ourselves.

1. Choose An Effective Workout

Pick a workout form that you can do almost anywhere, whether you’re traveling or getting home late from the office. Ideally, this will be a form of exercise that doesn’t require much preparation or equipment and that accomplishes significant physical gains in a short period of time. High-intensity interval training, Tabata training, bodyweight exercises, and running are all great choices.

2. Schedule It

Sit down and list out (Or use an app instead) what you do and when you do it in a typical day. Look for any waste time that can be addressed to create time for training. Suppose your schedule reveals that you currently watch two hours of TV in the evening. Why not cut that back to 90 minutes and squeeze in a 30-minute workout?

Create a new schedule with the excess cut out and the training time added, and then stick to it!

3. Multi-Task

Try to incorporate some physical activity while you’re watching TV or using the internet. Like for instance you can do some push-ups or jumping jacks during commercials while watching the television.

Also, instead of sitting in the chair when on the computer, try sitting on a stability ball or stack the computer up on the books so that you have a suitable standing desk to surf from. Try not to sit for more than 30 minutes at a stretch!

4. Make Family Time As Workout Time

Go for a family hike/picnic on a Sunday morning, play a game of football or badminton with friends during evenings or post work, or make a date with the beloved or friend on the treadmill or take a stroll down the lane.
