Women Fitness India talks to the very talented actress about coming up with SIT, pregnancy and lots more!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have been in the Entertainment Industry for quite, tell us how did the journey start for you?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

It’s been a long journey so far. I started singing in TV shows when I was still in school. Modelling and TV anchoring started for me when I entered college. I came to Mumbai to pursue a career in modelling and landed myself the title role in a big TV show and from thereon started my acting journey which went on for a good 10-12 years, before I made the shift to content creation and content writing. Shitty Ideas Trending started as a passion and continues to grow. With the launch of BE SAFE and BEING WOMAN, I’m trying to create a foothold in the industry that will create a lasting impression in my community’s mind.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You recently delivered a baby boy and all through your pregnancy you were working, tell us how did you manage it? Best advice you could give to new mothers-to-be?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

Pregnancy is the most beautiful phase of a woman’s life. I continued to work because firstly, there was no other choice. Secondly, I am a workaholic and cannot sit still for too long without either ideating or physically doing something. Thirdly, that’s the best way to not just stay fit, but to take your mind away from the nagging aches and pains and the minor discomfort that pregnancy and the changing hormones bring.

My advice to the new mothers-to-be? Enjoy this phase to the fullest, because trust me, these 9 months just fly by! Feel important, behave important, because you are important! Don’t let anybody be mean to you. And be kind to yourself. But also, please exercise!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You managed to lose your post-pregnancy weight quite quick, tell us how did you manage that? 5 must-follow tips?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

Thank you! Yes I did infact lose the weight in 3 odd months I think. 5 tips you must follow:

1. The aim should not be weightloss, but fitness and good health. Trust me, you will need it in the years to come, now that you are a mother.

2. During pregnancy also, the food that you eat and the exercise that you choose is of utmost importance.

3. Start mild activity as soon as you can. Don’t let anybody tell you that only rest is important. Walking on your own feet to do your daily business goes a long way in being fit sooner.

4. Please avoid processed sugar and processed food as much as you can! No, you don’t need it!

5. Breastfeeding is GOOD for you and the baby! Don’t miss that beautiful experience.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you follow any particular diet? What are big no-no’s in your diet.

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

I don’t follow any particular diet. Just follow one rule. Avoid anything that comes out of a labelled packet.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You run a full-fledged digital media house and are even lead performer in the series how do you strike a balance between your professional and personal life?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

There’s nothing that cannot be achieved with time management. I plan in advance for EVERYTHING! My gym time, my office hours, script writing time, eating, shooting etc everything. It’s really simple when you master that skill.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

How important do you think it is that women of today need to be financially independent?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

Everyone needs to be financially independent. Your self respect depends on it. It gives you the wings to fly, and the will to try.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What is your favorite form of exercise, how important do you think is for women to be fit today?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

I love weight lifting. I also swear by skipping and swimming. I like to mix and match to avoid getting bored and for the body to show the maximum results. It is even more important for women to be fit than men. A woman is a juggler, a multi-tasker, a mother, an organiser. If she’s not fit, almost all aspects of her family’s as well as her own life are jeopardised.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What piece of advice you would like to give someone who would like to take YouTube as a full-time career?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

Don’t ape anyone. Just because someone else did it doesn’t mean you will too. Find your own unique talent, find the right audience for your talent, and then start. But be consistent. Just like any other business, you will learn along the way. But not if you give up!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With International Women’s Day coming up, who according to you is a superwoman?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

Every woman is a superwoman. Some of them have not discovered their super power yet.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

5 essential to follow before heading for a hospital to deliver your baby?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

1. Check your doctor’s track record. You’re going to be handing over your child’s life in his/her hands.

2. Check the hospital’s track record. How efficient are they in respecting the mother’s wishes.

3. Check the distance between your home and the hospital. You don’t want to deliver the baby in your car!

4. Meet the nursing staff. Are they gentle and efficient?

5. Speak to a few mothers who have delivered in that hospital and with that doctor. Take their feedback.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Key skin & hair care essentials to follow day and night?

Ms. Chhavi Mittal:

I have only be using coconut oil for many years. I went off all chemicals. Even sunscreen. I don’t use conditioners or harsh shampoos. I don’t color my hair or do treatments. I don’t go to the parlour for facials etc. Even the air in salons is full of chemicals. I only go for eyebrow threading once in 6 months. My skin and hair have never been better. I also drink a lot of water and eat a lot of greens.
