Ms. Namita Nayyar

You have been part of reality shows, fiction TV, movies, and theatre as well, what do you think is truly your favorite as a performer?

Ms. Delnaaz Irani

As a performer, I definitely love being on stage, something I genuinely love is instant audience reaction,  since that is how I started my acting journey so theatre always holds a special place in my heart and will always be my first love.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Your iconic role in Kal Ho Na Ho is still remembered, how would you describe your experience being in the movie and how relatable it felt?

Ms. Delnaaz Irani

Kal Ho Na Ho has been iconic in many ways, it was my first movie I was happily doing TV when it came to me, I gave the audition like I used to give on regular basis, and that is when I got to know that I was about to be part of Dharma Productions and share screen space with such big names.

Also, I played the role of “Sweetu” in a very happy and chilled-out manner, since I already by that time had been in the TV industry for 10 years and I had the experience, overall the experience was great the movie became a legendry film and I was on the top of the world to have been part of the film. And most important is that I really felt connected and relatable to the role of Sweetu,  she was the person who was very positive just like me, was a big foodie and so am I, and someone who could do anything for love exactly the way I am and also eventually even I found my DJ Franky in real life too! * laughs*

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Women Fitness India, talks about celebrity diets and fitness routines, do you follow any special diet? Your favorite Parsi dish?

Ms. Delnaaz Irani

The thing about diets is that I believe to think positively and being positive no matter what you do fitness is something that is deeper than just the way you look but more on the inside I am a huge supporter of body positivity. Having been on the heavier side always, but I am fit and healthy, whenever I go for body checks it’s all good. Moreover, diet is not about what you eat but overall lifestyle changes. Since now I am aging I have changed my lifestyle habits, the time I eat, what I eat, and be more calculative about managing my portions, because that is important , and that will help my overall health. My all-time favorite Parsi dish is Dhansak.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

You recently got engaged, congratulations, and tell us about your current feelings.

Ms. Delnaaz Irani

Yes, I recently got engaged and it was totally surprising and I want to thank all my well-wishers who were waiting for this moment. My current feelings are quite mixed sometimes I feel I should just take the plunge and get married, but other times I feel we should just stay the way we are, two people who are madly in love are living together we don’t need to sign a piece of paper for the society we are better off this way.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Lastly, social media comes with its own positives and negatives, how do you deal with trolling and negativity

Ms.Delnaaz Irani

Social media is as you see it, if you see it negatively you will find a lot of negatives. I see it as a positive space, it has given work to so many people, and helped people connect with others so I see it in a positive way, I have never been trolled for anything moreover if I find someone doing something which I don’t approve of I just block them, my way of dealing in life is to be positive and surround yourself with positivity. I don’t need any kind of stress just one click and the negative people can be blocked and that’s my funda of life.
