Edin speaks about herself, her career, and her future in this exclusive interview with the Women Fitness India Team.
Namita Nayyar:
What inspired you to pursue a career in modeling and acting?
Edin Rose
I was watching Indian movies even before I could speak a word of my own, and that’s the impact cinema had on me, as a kid I would wear my mom’s dupattas apply lipstick not within the lip lines, and pose in front of the TV, most times trying to imitate what was playing on the TV or something whoever was acting.
Namita Nayyar:
What motivated your decision to move to India and join the Tollywood industry?
Edin Rose
My family always knew I wanted to be an actor, but they told me I needed a plan B too, In case you know this did not work out, I studied aeronautics & moved to India when I was 20, to pursue my dreams, all ALONE that too.

Namita Nayyar:
How did your family and friends react to your decision to shift to India for your career?
Edin Rose
My family & friends back home in Dubai were very supportive, everyone knew I’m headstrong and there was no way I’d settle for less or for something I didn’t want, there was only one option and I chose that, and having a strong back support of family and friends gave me the push I needed.
Namita Nayyar:
How has your experience been working in the Tollywood industry so far?
Edin Rose
It’s lovely, the shoots are fast, the result also shows soon, the professionalism is unmatchable, and the nature of the people down south is so welcoming and open to outsiders like me, making it easy to work with them and feel at home.
Namita Nayyar:
Can you share some challenges you faced when you first started in the Indian film industry?
Edin Rose
My major challenge back then and even now is, that I don’t look quote on quote ‘Indian’ making it very difficult to match or fit into roles, making it very stereotypical and limited to only a kind or a parameter that suits me, which is why I always tend to score the ‘mod’ girl roles which is not the only thing I want to play as an actor, I look for versatility.
Namita Nayyar:
What was your first break in Tollywood, and how did it come about?
Edin Rose:
My first break was Ravanasura with Ravi Teja, sir, a friend of mine referred me for this song, I did not think much of it or that it would even happen, and behold there came the call exactly 2 days later, I was over the moon, Of course working alongside a star was my first and only felt the pressure but it was all smooth and he was super friendly.
Namita Nayyar
Who are some of the producers and directors you aspire to work with?
Edin Rose
I have had one specific director on my list since I was a child – SLB Sanjay Leela Bhansali, other than that I would love to work with, Anurag Kashyap, Raja Mouli, Sukumar, Trivikram, and many more.
Namita Nayyar:
Are there any specific actors in the Tollywood industry you are keen to collaborate with?
Edin Rose
Well I have always been a Ram charan girl, and I like Dulqueer Salman, Dhanush, and Jr.NTR along with that all Tollywood actors are super talented, and working alongside any of them will always be a privilege nonetheless.
Namita Nayyar:
What does a typical day look like for you?
Edin Rose
My day starts around 11 am with breakfast, continued with a few meetings, in case I don’t have those I go through my acting books and re-act scenes, towards night I hit the gym for 3 hours since I’m really into fitness, if it’s a weekend I end my day with the last show in a PVR and if it’s a weekday I eat and binge TV/sleep after the gym.
Namita Nayyar
Can you describe your diet and fitness routine?
Edin Rose
The diet I’ve never had of late though I try to only eat at home and avoid outside food. The fitness part I love working out and lifting weights, I try to max my power and push harder every day, you work a max of 2-3 hours a day anyhow.
Namita Nayyar
How do you stay fit and maintain your physique for modeling and acting?
Edin Rose
I work out and that’s the only answer for this, considering I’m someone who loves food and cannot diet, it doesn’t go well with my career, therefore, I push it in the gym.
Namita Nayyar
How has your journey in the entertainment industry changed you as a person?
Edin Rose
It’s grounded me as a person, being the only child to my parents and coming from a place and family of luxury I never realized that when you chase your career you start as a nobody, you go through the same process everyone goes through and struggle the same way, no one cares where and how you came from, all that matters is what you bring to the table, I mellowed down my temperament and character a lot since I moved to this industry.
Namita Nayyar
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned from your career?
Edin Rose
I’ve learned never to take a rejection or a no to heart be it anything in life, there is always better written, and what’s written for me cannot be taken by another & what’s not for me can never happen even if I push to the max. A no or reject may be a blessing in disguise.
Namita Nayyar
If, you could change one thing about the entertainment industry, what would it be?
Edin Rose
I would change how they stereotype certain looks, for example, mine only to specific roles and don’t look deep that someone who looks like me could also play the role of a villager with the right hair and makeup, I feel they think instead of going through that whole process they rather just cast someone who has that look, which in turn limits a lot of artists palette.
