Flora Saini On Her Journey, Her Love For Acting & Keto Diet!

Flora Saini, also known by her screen name Asha Saini, is an Indian film actress and model. She predominantly works in Tollywood, and also appeared in a number of Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi films. She has acted in over 50 films and co-starred with noted actors She is all set to appear in the upcoming movie Bhediya alongside Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.

Namita Nayyar:

Flora, you made your acting debut in 1999, now after being in the industry for 2 decades, how do you feel? And was this something you always wanted to do?

Flora Saini

Yes, I’ve worked in more than 50 south films till now, and with some of the best in the industry, learned so much. And I’ve been very, fortunate because I always say that I’m an actor by chance, not by choice because no one from my family is in this line. So for me to be here, it is Destiny. And I’ve just been very, very fortunate that I got to work in some super-duper hits with some amazing Stories, amazing directors, amazing actors, and learn so much, and that was my schooling, my Basics, of acting. There’s more to acting than just being a good actor. There is punctuality also dedication I have learned it from some of the greatest actors of all time, and I am more than grateful for that, and I don’t think that I would have wanted to do anything else but be an actor And I’m so grateful to God that I’m here.

Namita Nayyar:

You have been part of various web series, do you feel that OTT is now the big thing

So yes, I’ve been a part of lots of the series. And I know that OTT, the next big thing because we already have a Filmfare OTT. And I think, especially in the lockdown lot of people they had seen on the movies they had seen on the serials, the only thing left was web which was new content different, which was never served to the audience’s till now and it is just gotten better and better. And I’m so happy, like my thanks to the audience to have loved different types of Storytelling, different actors telling the story. And we have woken up to the fact that content is king.

Namita Nayyar:

Women Fitness India, talks about celebrity diets and fitness routines, do you follow any special diets? First thing you eat/drink in the morning?

Flora Saini

So anybody who knows me and I said this, in so many of my interviews that I was a fat kid in school. And I’m very, lazy when it comes to working out to some, you have to really push me. I love food, I’m Punjabi, and so I love food. I hate to work out, but I’ve always battled with my weight, all through my acting career finally about 4-5 years back, I started doing keto as a fad diet, but I didn’t realize that how much is going to help me? And it has because I have a PCOS problem, and keto helped my PCOS. And this is a topic that I feel very, very passionately about. I have tried to tell a lot of people I cook my keto recipes it is one diet, which gives you the key to deserts I have had keto ice creams, tiramisu, and rasmalai you name it, and I’ve had it. And also without working out not that I say people should not work out because of their muscles, need to be strong around your bones. So that only happens when you lift the weight, or you do some kind of physical activity. There’s better blood circulation.

And the first thing that I eat or drink in the morning, I have apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning. That’s what I have with turmeric you need turmeric, given the times we’re living in.

Namita Nayyar:

What comprises your fitness regime, how do you manage it with your acting schedules?

Flora Saini:

So, as I mentioned earlier I am very lazy when it comes to working out, so this is what I do generally is just WALK, yes that’s what I do in between shoots, on the set and even while on a phone, I just walk and talk, trust me it really helps me in keeping myself fit.

Namita Nayyar:

Besides physical fitness, mental wellbeing is also important what do you to keep up with your mental health

Flora Saini:

Yes, along with physical fitness, mental well-being is also very important during lockdown especially lot of people ask me, how do you keep yourself positive? So I told him, three rules

Firstly talk to your friends, you never know how is going through what and talking to someone obviously makes you feel relaxed and makes you feel better, secondly eat something sweet, trust me this really helps especially an Indian sweet and lastly put on some music like Punjabi bhangra for that matter and dance your heart out, trust me you will feel better!

Namita Nayyar:

 Social media is both a Boone and bane, you have a huge following of 1 million on social media, and how do you tackle the trolling and negativity

Flora Saini:

I just choose to ignore, mostly the trolling come from fake accounts, accounts with no Dps, and zero followers, so I rather choose to ignore them.

Namita Nayyar:

With 2022, around the corner, what are your goals and affirmations for the new year

Flora Saini:

My goal would be to just work more. I think nothing gives me more happiness.

Yeah, and maybe to travel, because that’s something we’ve not been really able to do. Not really a goal but it would be on my wish list to travel, to get back to traveling in 2022.
