Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You started your journey into the entertainment industry as an anchor with a reputed media firm and later ventured into acting, and recently you became a YouTuber as well, you have explored various phases of the industry. Share your journey from journalism to acting

Ms. Garima Goel

My Journey from a journalist to an actor to being a social media influencer has been full of joys and surprises. It has been a very fulfilling and enriching experience in life. Changing gears professionally is not always easy, but if you do things with passion and smart planning, and are willing to take calculated risks, Life could be very rewarding. In my heart, I always wanted to be an actor since childhood, but coming from a Baniya family in Purani Dilli, this didn’t seem like an option to my parents. I studied mass comm instead at Delhi university, topped with a Gold Medal, and then came to Mumbai to pursue journalism.

I always wanted to be in front of camera, so an anchor’s job was quite fulfilling but not until the ACTING KA KEEDA started biting me again. I decided to follow heart which told me it’s one life- “jo Karna hai yahin karna hai, koi malaal(remorse) na reh jaaye”

So I decided to take the plunge. I planned my finances for at-least 6 months, studied acting from Bary John Acting School, quit my job and started giving auditions. God has been very kind. I got selected in the third audition I gave and worked in my first show on start plus, Pyaar ka dard hai meetha meetha. Since then there has been no looking back.

Ms. Garima Goel:

When I interviewed Mr. Amitabh Bachchan for the first time (Aladin Movie), I was really nervous. My friends even told me that he could be intimidating at times if you are not confident enough. I mustered my courage in front of him and tried directing him and do some crazy magic stuff for me during the interview. He obliged. I couldn’t believe that a
person of his stature was so humble to take instructions from an anchor and perform for an interview. So it was like acting with Mr. Bachchan on screen but for a media channel. Truly memorable.
