Meghna you have been in the industry for two decades, tell us about your journey and how you decided to be part of the industry

Meghna Naidu

I have been a part of the industry since 2003 and it has been one crazy ride. I haven’t been very active since after COVID as I live in another country but I still have a lot of friends from the industry and am in touch with a few. I started with a music video Kaliyon Ka Chaman which went on to become one of the most important songs to change the music scene 20 years ago. Let’s say I was at the right place at the right time to get the part and am super lucky to be a part of such a beautiful song and video that people to date remember and enjoy watching.

Namita Nayyar:

Your most loved appearance is “Kaliyon Ka Chaman”, how do you look back on it and your fondest memories?

Meghna Naidu

Back in the day when I did the music video Kaliyon Ka Chaman, I didn’t really think much about it while we filmed the song as I didn’t really know what to expect. I did it for the fun of doing something new and exciting. But little did I know the song went on to be the number one song on all charts for months and years together especially because of the way it was shot. The makers Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru really knew what they were doing and I simply trusted them all the way. All of the memories connected to Kaliyon Ka Chaman from the moment I heard the song to when I auditioned for it to the filming to the 1000s of shows I performed on it are memories that can never be erased and are very close to my heart. It is something I will never forget till the day I die.

Namita Nayyar:

Women Fitness, talks about celebrity diets and fitness regimes. Do you follow any special diet? What is your morning ritual?

Meghna Naidu

People who follow me on social media will know I am a lot into fitness. Not just physically but also mentally I have studied it professionally and also helped people with my personal training and life coaching skills. I think in today’s day and age everyone is looking at DIETS and I feel there is so much pressure to eat this or not to eat that. It can get very tiring mentally to be following something all the time. I have always been very vocal about looking at fitness from a broader perspective and living a healthy lifestyle which will help and have a long-term impact the older you get. I don’t follow any diet but I am a mindful eater. I let go sometimes but I stop when it is not needed.

But one thing is for sure I am very very active and make sure to hit the gym or do some kind of physical activity at least 6 times a week. An active body always helps the mind to be active.

Namita Nayyar

What comprises your fitness regime? How do you manage it with your work schedules?

Meghna Naidu

I do a range of weight training, HIIT, cardio, and stretching throughout the week. Mainly I feel weight training has helped me the most as I have become stronger and don’t get injuries like I used to when I was younger. I like to lift heavy weights and that can probably be said, to be my favorite workout to do. When I am shooting it does get tough to go to the gym on a day-to-day basis so I cover that up with walking on set or using my skipping rope and stretch bands. And In case I get done early withthe shoot then I head to the gym after the shoot to do a session. It all depends on how my body is feeling. I don’t put it under too much pressure.

Namita Nayyar:

Lastly, your message Women –Fitness readers how do you define fitness and health?

Meghna Naidu

Fitness is not about how skinny you are. A lot of women these days look at being skinny or a certain size as being fit. Fitness is all about how healthy you are. You can be a size 8- 10- 12- 14 and still be fit. Also very important to understand is that if you are mentally not ok then having that perfect body doesn’t count. Mental health is more important than physical health in today’s day and age of the internet and social media.

Think positive, Read positive, Learn something, Understand what is good for you, and live a healthy and clean lifestyle.
