Meghna, your journey from Bijnor to representing India internationally is truly inspiring. Can you share some of the pivotal moments and challenges you faced?
Meghna Singh
I started my journey from a small town and I had to travel a distance to be on the pitch it was quite far and at that time even that looked like a struggle, changing buses and reaching there, but eventually I felt it all paid off in my journey.
Namita Nayyar:
What was it like receiving your first call-up to the Indian women’s cricket team? Can you describe the emotions and preparations leading up to your debut against Australia in 2021?
Meghna Singh
I still remember that day I was in the camp when I received the call, and I immediately called my family and told them about it, they were all very happy since we had been waiting for this day for a long and it had finally happened.

Maintaining peak fitness is crucial for fast bowlers. What does your typical fitness routine look like, and how do you ensure you stay in top physical condition?
Meghna Singh
Yes, fitness plays a very crucial role and it is very important to maintain a proper fitness and diet routine to maintain your physical wellness, also I follow the instructions given by my instructor and fitness trainer that helps me work on areas of improvement so that I am in my best shape.
Namita Nayyar:
Nutrition plays a significant role in an athlete’s performance. Can you walk us through your diet plan and any special nutritional practices you follow?
Meghna Singh
When it comes to nutrition, it is very important to know what we are putting inside our body in terms of nutrition, also right nutrition does not need to be high-end supplements, it can be regular food more like home-cooked food, that is what I do besides that I have cut sugar, That has helped me a lot.
Namita Nayyar:
How do you balance the demands of professional cricket with your personal life and other interests?
Meghna Singh
It is all about keeping a balance you don’t need to sacrifice your personal life for your professional life, you can have the best of both by keeping a good balance.
Namita Nayyar:
You were recently signed by the Gujarat Giants for the 2024 Women’s Premier League. How excited are you about this opportunity, and what are your goals for the upcoming season?
Meghna Singh
Yes, I am very excited and looking forward to the league, and I hope to perform much better than what we did last time and to give the best to my team that is the ultimate goal, and looking forward to it.

Looking back, which match or performance stands out as the most memorable in your career so far, and why?
Meghna Singh
One of the most memorial matches I remember was a domestic match in which I was representing the central zone, I went to batting alongside Mithali Raj and did 35 not out and went to win the match so it was quite memorable for me, and the recent international match which was my debut was also memorable.

For aspiring young cricketers, what advice would you give regarding health and fitness to help them reach their full potential?
Meghna Singh
My advice to all young cricketers would be to focus on their health and nutrition and once they are physically fit try to maintain it and avoid any external and artificial steroids, because no matter how much we deny it health is very important and most important for us,
