India has reported 14,348 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry said on Friday. The country also registered 805 deaths during the same period, the government said.
India also recorded a recovery rate of 98.19%. With 13,198 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of people who have recuperated from the disease rose to 3,36,27,632, Covid bulletin released by the government stated.
India currently has 1,61,334 active Covid cases. The active case at present accounts for less than 1% of total cases – the lowest since March 2020.
The weekly positivity rate, at 1.18%, remained below 2% for the last 35 days. At 1.12%, the daily positivity rate has been less than 2% for the last 25 days.
A total of 60,58,85,769 samples have been tested for Covid detection up to October 28, the government also said, adding that 12,84,552 tests were conducted on Thursday.
As many as 104.82 crore doses of vaccine have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. More than 74 Lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said.
