Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are a Food scientist with a Food and Chemical engineering degree and specialization in Nutrition, with an overall work experience of 12 years and handling Fat loss and body shaping needs since 2007. Walk us through your incredible journey and tell us how it all began?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

So, I started on the other side of the table in the processed food industry as a Scientist and soon realized the so called Healthy Products were actually making us sick, so after a few years I ventured out on my own and started NidSun, which is a wellness Clinic that supports and aids safe and healthy practices.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life.

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

Well like any other working person my days are hectic and packed , I wake up at around 6:30ish plan my day and meals ahead, like most people I work 6 days a week, being your own boss is great but it also means you have no time for yourself and work is happening round the clock. I pack my meals and go where ever I am going, I get free from work around 7 and then straight hit the gym. Before I realize the day is over. So, I have a really busy life but along with family I always make time for healthy eating and workout.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

I keep switching things regularly as our bodies get used to one form of workout, but mostly I try to keep a balance between weight training, Yoga, Cardio etc. Dance and some outdoors are added here and there often just to make it fun.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Tell us about the daily diet that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

As most people know I follow a vegan diet, I stay off animal products and supplements advocated a lot these days, my mantra is to eat in moderation and the right kind of foods. As for physical fitness there are no set definitions of fitness, you have to decide where and how much you’re willing to challenge your body and just consistently work in that direction. These are choices you make daily for long periods of time which would determine the outcome.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Share with us your tips for a healthy weight loss post pregnancy.

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

I think the number 1 Mistake women make is not taking care during the pregnancy, the Indian psychology of resting and eating double does the damage and post pregnancy since you already have a huge responsibility of a tiny human, adding weight problems just crashes most women. So, if women keep active, keep eating clean and healthy and keep hitting the gym during pregnancy, the post pregnancy weight loss and shaping up would be automatic.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Also, tell us your weight loss tips for women suffering with PCOS.

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

One word, watch what you eat like a hawk. Food is going to contribute a lot to correct your problem. Cut out processed food, alcohol and junk to zero. Start some physical activity and most importantly be patient, this would take time but end results would be better.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are the brand ambassador of Puma Do You in India along with Jacqueline, Kalki, Lisa Haydon, Sakshi Malik & others and were part of their Guinness World Record plank. How does it feel to represent such an iconic brand?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

Lol ! I don’t know what to say! Being on that platform is great, but being part of the world record where Indian women made history was just mind blowing, the record attempt had women as old as 61 and girls as young as 6 and together we made history and that moment was goosebumping.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are also a fitness entrepreneur with your chain of weight loss clinics, with its branches in Delhi, Chandigarh and Panchkula. Tell us more about your popular venture NidSun Weight Loss?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

NidSun is a brain child of me and my brother, Dr. Sunny Bawa (he’s a Sports and Nutrition Specialist), I was associated with Food Industry and He was associated with Sports, doping in both was what made us come up with something that would help people achieve their dream bodies but without any side effects or long term consequences .

So, we started with one Clinic and some non-surgical procedures, gradually we introduced more things we were the First all exclusive Weight Loss Clinics and the first ones to get Fat Freezing technology in India which is now a big rage.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Would you like to tell us about the changing scenario of fitness in our country over the years?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

There have been some good changes and there have been some bad changes.

First, the good ones. Holistic way of looking at fitness has been the biggest of all for me, unlike the past decades its not just looks but for the first time fitness is being viewed as a lifestyle from eating, to mindfulness, meditation and reducing carbon foot print everything is being looked upon which is great.

Now the bad parts, unfortunately the masses are still attracted by aesthetics, overuse and misuse of supplements, doping, steroids abuse have become so common its not even funny. Gyms have become more pharmacy than real place to find health.

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

Be consistent, keep hustling everyday, someone tells you there’s a quick fix run in the other direction. The only way to have success in fitness or life generally is consistency over time .

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With an audience of over 38.8k followers on your Instagram account @nidhimohankamal you’re a social media sensation and a leading fitness star. How does it feel that you are able to influence the healthy lifestyle of so many individuals?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

I have been sharing stuff on social media for 3 years but before that also its been about 7 years since I have been writing about health in Newspapers. It feels empowering to know we can impact so many people these days on a daily basis, but I also feel huge responsibility of bringing out right information and more importantly keeping our culture alive.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.org and message for our readers?

Ms. Nidhi Mohan Kamal:

I feel really proud to see women’s fitness related concepts getting popular in India, women work hardest in the house and are mostly most neglected in terms of health. Thank you to your team from giving a platform for Women to discuss and share their health and fitness.

To all the women reading this, I would say believe in yourself, believe that you are beautiful and believe you deserve only the best. Keep Hustling!
