Ms. Namita Nayyar

Prajakta, from being a Radio Jockey, to one of the most famous YouTubers to finally having your debut in Bollywood, you have had a story/journey of your own, now that you look back how would you describe your journey as also the phase you enjoyed the most?

Ms. Prajakta Koli

It’s been quite a roller coaster, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, every day has been a new lesson. Every day has been a new experience  I’ve had my ups and my downs, and I made my mistakes and genuinely, if I had to do it all over again, I would do it exactly as I’ve done it. I wouldn’t change anything. The phase that I enjoyed the most, No, I really can’t pick because I started doing content about a little over six years ago. And if there is ever a phase that I want to think of that, oh, I had the most fun here, or I had the least fun here. I can’t pick anything because there was always a yin and yang situation happening where there were some things working out. And sometimes weren’t working out, but it was never a dull day

Ms. Namita Nayyar

You have one of the most leading YouTube channels, by the name “Mostly Sane”, the thought behind the channel’s name? Also, how do you manage it along with your acting career?

Ms. Prajakta Koli

There was actually no thought, it was just the first thing that came to my mind, and decided to go with it.

Considering how I manage it with my acting career, well the acting part only started like in 2019, where I needed to work outside my youtube universe, but I have a very efficient team that helps me with that too that sort of helps me stay on track.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

You have been on the Netflix series Mismatched, how was your experience on being on the show? Being from a non-acting background, how did you prepare for the role?

Ms. Prajakta Koli

Oh, we just finished shooting Mismatched season 2, can’t wait for all of you to see it, also I am not from a non-acting background, I have been doing theatre much before YouTube, I have done theatre in my college life and done it commercially too!

How did I prepare for the role I think dimple is such a relatable character. Dimple is such a beautiful girl, such a beautiful person, and I think the writers had the character so beautifully written, and my direction team had known exactly how she was going to be. So that kind of helped me prepare for the character. Also, she’s not very different from who I am. I relate a lot to her on a lot of personal things

Ms. Namita Nayyar

You have been on the Forbes 303 under 30 lists, Grazia most influential list, and Cosmo You tuber of the year award how do you feel being recognized and being on the top of the game, did you always manifest this

Ms.Prajakta Koli

I mean, it’s amazing and great. When you get up, go to work and do what you love doing. And then it’s even better when you get recognized for it and receive appreciation for it by these big players. And if they take notice of the work you’re doing, it’s always a pat on the back. It’s a lot of motivation. I honestly don’t think I’m at the top of my game all the time. As I said, it’s been a roller coaster, Some days I have it through some days I don’t.

Honestly, when I started making content, I did not think that it would ever become this. I had not seen anything happening in the future. I had not manifested anything. And by saying, I had not manifested anything, I didn’t think that nothing would happen. But I just wanted to keep the possibilities endless it is why I didn’t put a name on it. But I’m very, very grateful

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Women Fitness India, talks about celebrity diets and workout routines, do you follow any special diet? Your favourite cuisines and cheat meals

Ms. Prajakta Koli

I am actually a big, big, big fan of food. I’m never usually on a diet. However, one thing I do consciously is do portion control, and I always watch what I’m eating for dinner, because usually that always shows on your face and body the next morning. So Ghar ka Khana I absolutely love, and I’ll always do portion control. That’s my way of dieting. Yeah, but my favorite Cuisine really can’t pick like I’m a full full full Hogger. I will eat anything and everything. I’ll eat everything. I absolutely love all Cuisines and enjoy everything

Ms. Namita Nayyar

What comprises your fitness routine? How do you try to stay active while traveling or between your acting schedules?

Ms.Prajakta Koli

So my workouts are all on the mat. I love functional training. I love training with my own weight. I don’t like, working out with weights and stuff like that. I love HIIT. I love yoga. So throughout the week, I’ll try to work out about three to five times a week. And in those three to five times, I will sort of alternate between HIIT. I’ll do dance workouts. I will do yoga. I will just do functional stuff like that.

While traveling I just tend to carry my yoga mat, but acting schedules do sometimes mess my workout routines, while I was shooting for Mismatched past one month I couldn’t really work out, but that’s ok like now I am back in Bombay so my routine is back on track!

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Social media comes with its own package of trolling and negativity, how do you manage that? Tips for budding creators

Ms. Prajakta Koli

Honestly, I mean, I am a big, big, big sucker for criticism online, because critics are always very, very honest and about 8 out of 10 times, you will learn and get better from everything they have to say to you. And I really, value everything they say. But trolls on the other hand are not my problem. I will never waste a single minute of my life worrying about, reacting to, or thinking about people that have no value to my life.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

You have had worked with mental health, body shaming campaigns, what do you do to keep a check on your mental health, also do you still feel that mental health is still a taboo to talk about in India

Ms.Prajakta Koli

Actually, I’m very, very glad that is becoming a more and more open and free-flowing conversation. I’m very happy that people of all ages, of all sectors of all regions in our country, are actually now speaking of thanks to the internet online on mental health. So I think the conversation is inching a little away from being taboo as we speak.

I think there are a few things that I do in my day that sort of helping me so keep my sanity intact. I love journaling. Yoga and working out help my mental health. Also, I think having conversations is something that helped me the most with people with my team, with my friends and family, just about anything and everything speaking up about things that bother me speaking out about things I want to talk about. And I feel like that helps me sort of keep a check

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Lastly, with 2022 approaching what are goals and resolutions you looking forward to

Ms. Prajakta Koli

I mean, honestly, I want to try more things outside of my comfort zone. I want to definitely act more, write more. Want to try doing new characters, things I’ve never done before. I want to keep my health, my mental and my physical health, a top priority. I want to spend time with my family. I want to give myself breaks from time to time. I want to appreciate myself for doing so. Well, I feel like sometimes I don’t do that as much.

I want to travel, hopefully. See new places, eat all the food I can, watch new content. And this has been like this thing has been on my list for years now, what I want is to learn a new language, but that just doesn’t come through. So I keep pushing it to the next year. So yeah, learn a new language, but overall be happy. Be grateful, be completely aware of everything that I’m blessed to have, and work more towards getting more in keeping it. Thank you.
