Radhika you are one of the most searched Yogini, tell us how did your journey with fitness begin? And what drives you towards yoga
Ms. Radhika Bose
My yoga journey began way before social media got into the picture. I have been practicing yoga since I was in school. My mother and I did yoga classes thrice a week. She got a slipped disc and was recommended to take up yoga and because I love being active, I too started with her. For me yoga is all about self-care time, it’s the few minutes in the day I dedicate to my well-being. I do other forms of fitness as well, but yoga has always been about self-care and getting in touch with my inner self.

Ms. Namita Nayyar
You have talked about mental and sexual wellness along with physical wellness, do you think in India it’s given less importance comparatively?
Ms. Radhika Bose
Mental and sexual wellness are difficult topics. People are not very comfortable discussing them with anyone. Most find it cringe.
But just like your physical health plays a big role to live a fruitful life
, so does your mental and sexual health. I don’t think India gives it less importance, I feel we have difficulty starting the dialogue. We are too concerned about what others might think or say..Ms. Namita Nayyar
With International Yoga Day around the corner, what does yoga mean to you? How did it play a pivotal role in your journey?
Ms. Radhika Bose
Yoga is not just one day to be celebrated. It’s not an event. Either it’s a part of your everyday life or it’s not. My yoga journey has been more about building mental strength than physical. Yoga has helped me cope with a lot of difficult aspects of my life.
Ms. Namita Nayyar
Whether you are a beginner or a pro, there’s something for any and everyone who wants to start their fitness journey or simply take it to the next level. Share some beginner yoga postures for weight loss?
Ms. Radhika Bose
It’s a very narrow-minded view to see yoga just for weight loss. If you want to start your fitness journey, then the first thing you do is set your intention. Why have you chosen this path? Once that is set, everything else will fall into place. There is more to Yoga than just weight loss. I would say don’t demean its importance by making it only about weight loss.
Ms. Namita Nayyar
What according to you is the best time to practice yoga? How do you keep up with its with your travels?
Ms. Radhika Bose
The best time is the time you get to practice. In the pursuit of finding the right time, you may not even get the time.
Ms. Namita Nayyar
Lastly message for our readers who want to start their yoga journey and message for International Yoga Day?
Ms.Radhika Bose
It will change your life. Physically, emotionally, mentally.
