You began your journey into modeling in 2011 and went on to represent India at multiple international pageants, now that you look how would you describe your journey?

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

I started very early and always loved competing, in pageants and other competitions. It’s a very healthy way to start your journey in show biz, as it gives you immense exposure and learning experiences. I got lots of opportunities to travel and work internationally, and I learned a lot during that time. When I look back, the journey has been long yet very rewarding in terms of life and experiences, and learning.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Many young girls aspire to be part of the Miss India Pageant, your piece of advice for them.

Ms. Ruhii Singh

It’s the best platform for you to gain exposure and start your journey into the modelling or acting world, and my advice would be to first analyze if you’re fit for the competition, and then just give it all in. From general knowledge to fitness to various talents that you might have, this would be the chance to showcase them. Most importantly, believe in yourself. Confidence can take you a long way not just in pageants, but in life. Just go for it!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you follow any particular diet? How often you cheat on your diet?

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

I eat everything, but in small portions. Also, I incorporate fruits and salads in my diet. Dry fruits, juices, eggs are my favourite comfort food.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Being in the industry, it is very important to be fit and most importantly look fitter, what is your fitness regime

Ms.Ruhi Singh:

I believe consistency is the key. Fitness is not a one-time event, it’s a lifestyle. I work out every day. Even if it’s just going for a 30 min run, I never skip a workout. Weight training, dance workouts, martial arts, I do it all. Also, mental health is as important as your physical health, I have joined an online meditation class which has immensely helped me during this lockdown.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What are your thoughts on “beauty with a purpose”?

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

I feel ‘beauty with a purpose’ should be everyone’s motto in life. It’s way beyond just pageantry. Our purpose and actions make us beautiful. Outer appearances fade away, what remains is your contribution to the world and humanity in general. Be a kind person, help the needy, the underprivileged, who might not be as lucky as you today. It’s a duty that we all as humans should do.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You recently lend your voice to all the women and children suffering abuse at home during this lockdown. #lockdownmeinlockup, tell us more about and what made you speak about it

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

I believe domestic violence is an issue which needs to be spoken about. People shouldn’t suffer in silence, we need to help those who are facing these issues. We have shot a short film which is coming out soon regarding the issue and to create awareness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have also spoken about skincare, fitness, and beauty with your campaign “Yuhi with Ruhi”, Do you feel that people do not speak about mental health like stress, anxiety, and depression in India more openly

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

Yes, I very strongly believe that mental health needs to be talked about, in fact from childhood. We need to talk! From facing all kinds of bullying to indulging in negative thoughts- if we keep it all bottled up- it will have disastrous results. Depression, anxiety has become very common amongst all age groups/ from school marks to career-related setbacks to relationships, we are under constant pressure. We need to let it out and talk about it openly and not make it a taboo. It’s crucial for our well being and to lead a healthy and happy life.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With Lockdown almost coming to end what tips you would be following to keep yourself safe and protected?

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

It’s of utmost importance to wear a mask, keep a sanitizer handy, maintain social distancing, and be very careful. If not for yourself, then for the elderly, and for the entire country. You have a responsibility to be cautious, and I will myself be very careful once things open up.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What are your upcoming projects and message for your 1M followers on your Instagram account @ruhiisingh?

Ms. Ruhii Singh:

Firstly I’m very grateful to all my fans and followers for being a part of my life and journey. Upcoming projects- I have a web series releasing soon, where Sanjay Misra Sir is my costar. And another thriller with Prateek Babbar. I have also just finished a bilingual project with Kajal Aggarwal and Vishnu Manchu.
