Ms. Namita Nayyar

Sai you have been in the movie industry for more than a decade, tell us how did your journey begin, and was it always a dream to be an actor?

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

My journey began at my college, I like everyone else was a confused teenager, who wanted to be something new every week! *giggles*

I just decided to be a part of a playback then, which was by chance a failure and I decided to be an actor post that.

I never dreamt to be an actor, I was very much into sports during my teenage days, and this happened by mistake and yet the “sweetest” mistake was that I became an actor!

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Besides being a prominent actor in the Marathi Industry you have been part of various Bollywood projects as well, tell us about your experience, and did you ever feel any difference?

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

I think apart from the scale, there is no major difference, the effort to get in the character remains the same, the professionalism remains the same, and also both industries have fantastic people to work with, also I feel the boundaries among various language-based entertainment portals are now blurring and this is giving actors like me more opportunities to showcase our work and expand our horizon which is very helpful, so all in all the journey has been amazing so far and I can’t wait to witness the rest!

Ms. Namita Nayyar

With OTT being the big thing now, what are the kinds of projects you would like to be part of? Your favorite genre of work?

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

ACTION is something I have always had an eye for! Being a tomboy trapped in a girl’s body. Besides that I would love to invent new genres from my side as well, and also I have been working on some amazing projects which are set to release soon on OTT. Would love to be part of period drama, comedy hasn’t explored them yet so.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Being on the Cover of Women Fitness India, how would you define fitness for our readers? Also, you are an orange belt in Kabaddi, do share your experience with that too?

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

For me, fitness is something that is linked to your mind, so it’s very essential to be fit mentally and physically. I define fitness not only by hitting the gym but to be fit and happy with oneself. I don’t crave or drive myself off anything, I eat everything and burn those calories, be it a dessert or carbs, I eat it all.

Also from my point of view fitness has a mind-body connection so it’s very important to be fit mentally, be in a good mental space, and keep your mind full of positive thoughts, hope, and goals. So that is how I define fitness, also I would like to highlight that “fitness” and “your weight” are two different things and they are not related. We have been living in an era where there are unrealistic body standards and it’s high time we get real and not be affected or bothered by these.

I love to work out, I do cardio, and weight training, and when I was in school I used to play Kabaddi and Karate, sports is something that teaches you how to deal with your loss and wins, so that has taught me a lot now I deal my sorrows just as deal my happiness!

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Women Fitness India talks about celebrity diets and fitness routines, do you follow any specific diet ritual?

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

Ha-ha interesting question! Let me begin with that all crash diets are shortcuts, And there is no shortcut to hard work and results eventually.

I am a very Home food type of person, I enjoy basic dal and chapatti for lunch and dinner, and breakfast is generally eggs and Bakri sometimes. It is because my profession demands me to face the camera every day I need to look a certain way, but still, I don’t believe in crash diets rather believe in having healthy and long-term diets and lifestyle rituals that are more sustainable.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

What comprises your fitness schedule? Do you prefer functional or weight training?

Ms.Sai Tamhankar

Honestly, I am a person who gets bored very easily, so I keep changing my workout routine. I am a huge fan of animal flow which is something you do with your body weight, this I really helpful when you are shooting in places where there are no gyms.

Running and cardio is not really my cup of tea but I do it sometimes when required. Kickboxing and weight training are something I really enjoy. I keep changing my workout schedule as per my body’s mood!

Ms.Namita Nayyar:

Along the physical fitness, mental health is equally important, how do you keep up with your mental wellness

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

For me mental and physical health go hand in hand, when you are not in the good zone mentally you see its impact on your physical health, I tackle my mental wellness by deciding what to take to my heart. I don’t pay attention to trolling, having a thick skin is very important.

I do meditate, and spend time with myself, doing therapeutic cooking is also helpful sometimes, and having a proper sleep schedule is essential, so these are some things that might feel not so relevant but are very important for one’s mental wellness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With 2023 around the corner, what are your goals and resolutions for the New Year? Upcoming projects and messages for your fans?

Ms. Sai Tamhankar

I am not really a resolution person, but something that I would like to prioritize in 2023, would be my health, to work on my health again both mentally and physically.

Work wise a lot of projects are coming up in 2023 so excited about that! My goals would be to do great work, collaborate with amazing artists, and to most to take good care of myself!
