Zarina, you started The Face chi after your personal experience with face yoga, tell us about it.

Ms. Zarina Del

My journey with Face Yoga started a few years ago at 43 yrs when I was diagnosed with eyelid ptosis (drooping). My condition started worsening, creating facial asymmetry and I started becoming very conscious of my face. I saw many doctors who recommended surgery, but I did not want to go down that route and started looking for a natural solution. That’s when I found Face Yoga. I was intrigued by the fact that we had over 50 muscles in our face and neck area. I started practicing face exercises regularly, combining them with face massage and posture work.

In about 4-6 weeks I found a slight improvement in my eyelid. In about 6 months, my eyelid started lifting more. Not only that but my friends and family started commenting on how much more sculpted and brighter my face & skin looked. My jawline was more defined and my puffiness, dark circles, tension headaches, and sinus congestion had reduced significantly. Also, my neck looked longer and leaner. I knew then that I wanted Face Yoga not only to be part of my life but to help others make it part of their self-care routine as well. I created The Face Chi Face Yoga method, incorporating key techniques to enable you to look and feel your best at any age.

People often wonder if think face yoga works, your take on the same?

Ms. Zarina Del

Face Yoga is a workout for the face. We have overworked and sleeping muscles on the face. Face Yoga helps to relax and rejuvenate the overworked muscles and awaken and strengthen the sleeping/atrophied muscles. As a result, the skin attached to these muscles also becomes firmer, tighter, and plumper. Face Yoga definitely works if done correctly and consistently. This is why I created a 5 week Face Yoga program which is a step-by-step guided approach to help people get the best version of their face at any age.

The Face Chi Face Yoga method is a combination of face exercises, face massage and posture exercises to enhance the body’s natural systems of muscle rejuvenation, circulation, and lymphatic drainage. As a result, you will see a more lifted, toned, sculpted face and plump glowing skin if done correctly and consistently.

Does face yoga target different dermatological problems like acne, and wrinkles?

Ms. Zarina Del

Face Yoga helps to release muscle tension, boost blood circulation, and collagen production, and facilitate lymphatic drainage(removal of toxins/fluids). It works on all layers of the face, the muscles, connective tissue, fat, and skin. As a result, it can help with softening fine lines/wrinkles. With acne, it depends on the cause of the acne. While Face Yoga can help to heal acne faster, it will not prevent acne from re-occurring until the root cause of the acne is addressed. While Face Yoga helps with an overall improvement in skin tone and texture, it does not target specific dermatological issues.

With International Yoga Day around the corner, what does yoga mean to you? How has it played a role in your life?

Ms. Zarina Del

Yoga, (both face and body) has helped me establish and leverage a mind-face-body-spirit connection. Besides the obvious physical benefits of Yoga, it has deepened my spiritual and emotional connections and helped me re-connect with myself at a deeper level. One of the amazing benefits of Yoga is how the practice resonates through other areas of your life too and improves overall well-being.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Women Fitness India talks about celebrity diets, do you follow any special diets? Your go-to mid-day snacks?

Ms.Zarina Del

I have never dieted in my life. I try and eat healthy whole foods most of the time, but also allow myself to occasionally indulge in foods that I love. I ensure I get enough protein through my diet and hydrate sufficiently. My go-to mid-day snacks would be an apple with peanut butter, a protein shake, or egg and avocado on toast.

Besides being into face yoga you are also certified in dermatology

pharmrx.online

, how do you blend both when consulting your clients

Ms. Zarina Del

I got my certification in Dermatology in Australia 2 years ago and this has enhanced my knowledge of facial anatomy and the skin even further. This enables me to adopt a more holistic approach to help my clients get the best version of their faces naturally. It is important to work on the face from the inside-out (Face Yoga) and the outside-in (skincare & lifestyle). I am able to give my clients advice, not only on facial exercises and massage but also on skincare and lifestyle habits that will further enhance their results.

Ms.Namita Nayyar:

Lastly, your message for our readers on how Face yoga is important for overall wellness along with mental and physical attributes

Ms.Zarina Del:

The numerous wellness and beauty benefits of Face Yoga can be very empowering. Face Yoga gives you the tools to indulge in self-care and to discover that you can get your best face naturally with just your hands and consistent practice. When you begin to take care of yourself and see positive internal and external changes, it boosts your confidence and self-esteem levels. Face Yoga allows you to re-connect with your face, and accept and love yourself more. All of this boosts mental well-being too. Every face is unique and my mission is to help you get the best version of your face, allowing it to tell its own magical story through Face Yoga.
