Ms. Namita Nayyar

Aditi, you have been in the Entertainment industry for over a decade, and have played some of the most popular roles, now that you look back how would you define your journey as?

Ms. Aditi Malik

So I think there are two types of people set people who always plan what they want to do in their lives, how they want their life to shape up or their careers to shape up For me somehow It’s always been going with the flow. So I had never planned to be an actor, or I had never planned to be a restaurateur.

So I believe in signals from the universe, and I just follow them, and just go with the flow. And I think I know that much that sitting here today. I can say that worked for me. I had never had any plans to become an actor, it’s just happened to me. I was studying at that time in college. So I started off pretty young. And I would say that it was a very proud feeling that I was studying and earning. Only one thing, the gist of whatever I have achieved now, is I put in my two hundred percent in whatever I do.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Besides being an actor, you have also been part of reality shows and even been the host for a few shows, which part did you enjoy the most?

Ms. Aditi Malik

Haha, I don’t feel I am the type for reality shows, I rather like hosting than being part of reality shows, moreover, I feel I am more inclined towards acting and comedy, dancing becomes too much for me to be honest.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

You recently embraced motherhood, how was the experience during your pregnancy? Shortcomings you felt

Ms. Aditi Malik

The last 2 years have been a turmoil for all of us, being in the pandemic situation, a lot of people have suffered a lot, recently everyone knows my father passed away and I became pregnant that time, so it was a very weird space for me mentally and physically too, and I can’t say that I am still out of it I still go through palpitations and jitters.

But I know that I will fight, and I’ll come out of it, and I’ll come out, even more, stronger because I have. That’s what my father taught me that you know, nothing should come in your way. Life is very precious. Life is beautiful. And you know, you might just get to live life once. So you don’t know what’s next. So just enjoy the moment and be in the moment and make the most of it.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

How do you manage your fitness regime? Workouts you incorporated for post-partum weight management

Ms.Aditi Malik

Fitness for me is again, about being balanced and being happy and not starving oneself. So yes, I have been following a fitness routine right now. I follow intermittent fasting, and I feel that really works for me. But yes, of course, I am doing it as it is prescribed by my doctor and my dietician. So I would suggest taking the right advice from a dietician.

I eat everything. The things that I avoid are fried food, sugar, and junk food basically, that doesn’t do any good to your body. So whenever you’re eating a bite, I feel one should really ask oneself that what is this doing to me, is it just for my taste? , or is it going to help me in my nutrition? So that really works for me. And yeah, I am managing working out like at least twice a day for 20 minutes, sometimes at late night, or early morning, because the schedules are very Haywire because of my small baby. But I manage because I feel that’s for my well-being, and I should be doing it.

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Being a lactating mother, what food supplements did you incorporate into your diet?

Ms. Aditi Malik

This is a very important part, I would say, of being a mother and embracing motherhood, because at times we tend to go wrong. We tend to have things that are actually not doing any good to A lactating mother. So it is each body different, understand your body. And I’m not saying, don’t listen to your elders, of course, they are experienced, But at the same time, there are few things that they might be also be saying that’s wrong, so do your research. Also what you feel is right, and eventually, that’s what I did. I combined everybody’s opinions. And then I came to my own opinion. that’s how I followed It, I used to eat Lots of veggies, lots of fruits. I have avoided too much of Halwa and panjeeres generally too much sugar

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Postpartum depression is a common thing we get to hear, how do you manage to keep yourself mentally fit?

Ms.Aditi Malik

Oh, yes. The postpartum depression I had also heard of, but I chose not to read much about it because I didn’t want to, kind of prepare myself for something which I don’t know, which was going to happen or not.

So I didn’t read about it. But whatever I went to, I don’t know whether it was postpartum, but I went through a lot of my mental turmoil because in my personal life, because of my father, they were it was something which I couldn’t manage and cope with.

I had a small baby, and my father was detected with something which couldn’t be cured. And obviously, everybody is close to their fathers, and I was super close to him. So I don’t know how to manage it and react to things. But yeah, Mohit was a big support. He really stood by me in everything in every possible way. Like initially I used to hate to meditate also. And I’m a very Spiritual person who has meditated a lot.

I just refuse to do anything and everything. But, he made me do it. He used to take me for walks. He’s to take me for a drive. He took me out, like immediately after my father passed away, He took my entire family, all of us. He pushed us out of our house and took us to goa.

And he said, it’s important that everyone gets a break and I’m sure people who go through this have experienced it that though my father was only one suffering physically, mentally, the entire family was suffering for the past two years because we were fighting to save him.

He was fighting himself to save him, So I know it’s a feeling when suddenly things stop and you don’t know what to do, it’s very difficult. . And yes, I’ve had a routine. When I write a diary. I discuss everything that is going on in my mind. I make sure I discuss it

Ms. Namita Nayyar

Lastly, piece of advice you would like to share for Women Fitness readers on prioritizing mental and physical health

Ms. Aditi Malik

I think every woman should look in the mirror and feel happy about herself, There shouldn’t be any negative stress, you should never rush things mainly post-pregnancy weight loss, that’s what my doctors and nutritionist told me.

Also, do incorporate a cheat meal in your routine it’s very important, but in moderation.

Now for the mental well-being, I feel, that it’s important to take out some me-time, like reading, writing or singing, spend time with your family.

Also after having a baby, do take out time as a couple, spending time with your spouse is very important, because even we go for walks to talk and discuss life in general after putting the baby to nap, and essentially remember to sleep a happy soul!
