Staying hydrated is the most important factor to deal with the blistering heat. Enjoying your favourite drinks to beat the heat and proper hydration to the body sounds like a great idea. Usually beverage delights come loaded with sugar and calories.
Here are healthy and nutritious drinks which will add to your taste without affecting your calories.
Aam Panna
Ingredients
- 500 gm green mangoes2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp kala namak (black rock salt)
- 2 tsp roasted and powdered cumin seeds
- 2 Tbsp finely chopped mint leaves
- 2 cups water
Method
- Boil the mangoes till they become soft inside, and the skin gets dis colored.
- When cool enough to handle, remove the skin and squeeze the pulp out of the mangoes.
- Mix all the ingredients together, blend and add 2 cups of water.
- Put some ice in the glasses and pour the panna over it.
Carrot Apple and Orange Juice
Ingredients:
- 1 cup carrot
- 1 cup apple
- 1 cup orange
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch of pink salt
Method:
In a blender add carrots, apple orange and ginger. Add some water and blend until smooth. Strain this in a glass and put half the fiber back into the juice. Add a pinch of salt and lemon juice and stir it. Serve and enjoy.
Bottle Guard and Amla Cooler
Ingredients
- 1 cup bottle gourd
- 1tbsp amla
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch of pink salt
Method:
In a blender add the bottle gourd and amla. Add some water and blend until smooth. Strain this in a glass and put half the fiber back into the juice. Add a pinch of salt and lemon juice and stir it. Serve and enjoy.
Ginger Mint Lemonade
Ingredient
- -Water 1cup (2000ml)
- -Lemon -1 tablespoon
- -Mint -15-20 leaves
- -Ginger- 1 teaspoon
Method
- Take a cup of water in a pan and add 1 tsp fresh ginger.
- Simmer for 10 minutes at low heat then keep aside and steep for another 30 minutes.
- After 30 min strain the ginger extract in a bowl.
- Lightly Crush mint leaves in another bowl with help of rolling pin or in pestle mortar.
- Add lemon juice, ginger extract & remaining water (cold).
- Mix all ingredients, remove mint leaves.
- Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with a slice of lemon.
Mango Ginger Lemonade
Ingredient (1 serving):
- Mango puree -1/2 cup(50ml)
- Water -2cup (250ml)
- Ginger shredded -1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice -2 Table spoon
Method:
- Take half cup of water in a pan and add 1 tsp fresh ginger.
- Simmer for 10 minutes at low heat then keep aside and steep for another 30 minutes.
- After 30 min strain the ginger extract in a bowl.
- Add lemon juice to it, then add mango puree & remaining water (cold).
- Mix all ingredients with hand or blend for 10-20 sec.
- Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with mango slice.
Nimbu Pani
Ingredient :
- Lemon (1 medium size)
- Chilled Water- 2 glass (400ml)
- Rock salt- as preferred
- Mint leaves (8 leaves)
- Chia seeds 1tsp
- Cumin powder (optional)
- Chat masala (optional)
Method
- Take chilled water in a vessel.
- Slice lemon & squeeze the juice with squeezer. Discard the seed.
- Add black salt, mint leaves & chia seeds.
- Mix all ingredients.
- Serve chilled
Sattu Sharbat
Ingredients
- 3-1/2 tablespoons Roasted Gram Flour (Sattu Ka Atta)
- 4 Mint Leaves (Pudina) , finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Coriander (Dhania) Leaves , finely chopped
- 1 Green Chilli , finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Salt (Kala Namak)
- 3 cups Chilled water
- Salt , to taste
Method
- In a bowl, add the sattu flour. To this, add rest of the ingredients including pudina leaves, coriander leaves, green chilli, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and mix well after adding cold or chilled water.
- Stir until the drink is uniform and without any lumps. You can do this with a spoon or use a handheld buttermilk churner/whisk.
- Pour it into the tall glasses and serve.
