A nutritive combination of spinach & moong dal.
Ingredients
- 250 gm spinach
- ½ cup moong chilka dal
- 1” piece ginger – finely chopped
- 2 tsp oil
- ½ tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
- 1 onion – finely chopped
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 3/3 tsp salt
- ½ tsp dhania (coriander powder)
- ½ tsp garam masala
- ¼ tsp amchoor (dried mango powder)
Instructions
- Clean & wash dal.
- Discard stems of palak. Chop the leaves finely. Wash the leaves.
- Mix together dal, palak, ginger, salt & 3 cups water in a pressure cooker.
- Pressure cook to give one whistle. Keep on low flame for eight minutes.
- Heat oil in a small pan. Add jeera. Fry till golden.
- Add chopped onions & cook till golden.
- Add the chilli powder, dhania powder, garam masala & a pinch of amchoor. Stir fry for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the onion mixture to the palak. Mix well. Serve hot with rice.
