Cottage cheese delicately flavoured with poppy seeds.
Ingredients
- 250 gms paneer – cut into ½” cubes
- 5 big tomatoes – pureed in a blender
- 2 tsp khus-khus (poppy seeds) – soaked in I cup hot milk for 2 hours
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp red chilli porder
- ½ tsp sugar
- 2 green chillies – slit into thin long pieces
Instructions
- Blend the tomatoes in a grinder to a puree. Strain the puree.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in a heavy bottomed karahi.
- Add tomato puree. Cook for 15 minutes on low flame, till it turns thick.
- Add salt, chilli powder & sugar. Cook for one minute.
- Add the khus khus soaked in milk. Cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame, stirring frequently.
- Add the paneer cubes. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Mix in the slit green chillies. Remove from fire.
- Garnish with 1 tsp of whipped curd if desired.
