Devanshi Shares her Personal Struggle with Weight
Q. Your wellness journey is deeply personal. What inspired you to become a Holistic Inch Loss Coach?
Like many women, I struggled with the exhausting cycle of losing weight, regaining it, and constantly feeling like I had failed. The emotional burden was often heavier than the physical one.
Instead of searching for another diet, I searched for understanding.
That journey led me into nutrition, gut health, hormonal wellness, and ultimately the psychology behind lasting habits.
Why Holistic Coaching Changed Everything
I realised sustainable fat loss isn’t driven by willpower alone.
It’s influenced by nutrition, hormones, stress, sleep, emotions, mindset, and the stories we tell ourselves every day.
Today, my goal isn’t simply helping women lose inches—it’s helping them create a lifestyle they can actually enjoy.
Quick Take: Real transformation starts in the mind before it appears in the mirror.
Why Inch Loss Matters More Than Weight Loss
Q. Why do you encourage women to measure inch loss instead of focusing only on body weight?
The number on the scale tells only a small part of the story.
Weight can fluctuate due to hydration levels, hormones, digestion, inflammation, muscle gain, sleep quality, and even stress. Yet many women judge their entire progress based on that single number.
Inch loss, however, reflects changes in body composition. When women begin making sustainable lifestyle changes—
- strength training,
- eating nourishing foods,
- managing stress,
- improving sleep, and
- moving consistently
—The body starts losing fat while preserving or building lean muscle.
Muscle and fat may weigh similarly, but they occupy very different amounts of space in the body. This means someone can lose inches around their waist, hips, and thighs, fit into smaller clothing sizes, feel stronger and more energetic, and still see only a small change on the scale.

For me, inch loss represents true progress because it reflects improved body composition, strength, metabolic health, and healthy aging rather than simply chasing a lower number.
The biggest mistake I see women make is trying to lose weight as quickly as possible. They often under-eat, over-exercise, eliminate entire food groups, and become obsessed with daily scale fluctuations. Unfortunately, these approaches usually compromise muscle mass, energy levels, hormones, and long-term sustainability.
Fitness Tip: Measure your waist, hips and progress photos every four weeks—not every morning.
Nutrition Myths That Need to End
Q. What’s the biggest misconception about healthy eating and fat loss?
Myth #1: Carbs Make You Fat
Carbohydrates fuel your brain, workouts, and recovery. It’s poor lifestyle habits—not carbohydrates themselves—that usually lead to weight gain.
Myth #2: Healthy Fats Should Be Avoided
Healthy fats are essential for hormone production, brain health, and nutrient absorption. Women especially need enough healthy fats to support hormonal balance.

Myth #3: Eating Less Is Always Better
Extreme calorie restriction often leads to:
- Low energy
- Poor recovery
- Hormonal imbalance
- Increased cravings
Sustainable fat loss comes from balance—not deprivation.
Quick Fact: Food is fuel, not the enemy, says Devanshi.
How Hormones, Sleep & Stress Affect Fat Loss
Q. Why do so many women over 30 struggle with stubborn fat?
Sleep Is Your Secret Fat-Loss Tool
Poor sleep disrupts hunger hormones, increases cravings, and slows recovery.
Chronic Stress Changes Everything
Stress doesn’t simply affect your mood. It influences cortisol levels, water retention, cravings, and your ability to recover.
Listen to Your Hormones
Your hormones aren’t working against you. They’re sending signals. When you nourish your body, move regularly, sleep well, and manage stress, your body becomes much more responsive.
Remember: Sometimes your body doesn’t need another workout—it needs another hour of sleep.

Why Mindset Is the Missing Piece
Q. How do you help women break years of negative self-beliefs?
Every Transformation Starts With a Thought
Many women believe:
- “I’m not disciplined.”
- “Nothing works for me.”
- “I’ll always struggle.”
Those beliefs quietly shape daily decisions.
Small Habits Create Big Results
I use journaling, mindfulness, accountability, and habit-building because lasting change isn’t created by motivation.
It’s created by repetition. Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s the foundation of every healthy life.
Quote to Remember: You cannot build a healthy body while speaking to yourself with an unhealthy mind.
A Client Story That Changed Everything
Q. Is there one transformation you’ll never forget?
There have been many transformations that have touched my heart, but one in particular stands out.
“A 54-year-old woman initially came to me seeking fat loss. During our conversations, I learned that she was also dealing with a knee injury, edema, chronic overthinking, anxiety, and loneliness from spending long periods of time by herself.” shares Devanshi.
As we worked together, the focus shifted from simply losing weight to creating a healthier lifestyle and emotional foundation. We introduced mindfulness practices, journaling, movement suited to her condition, and routines that helped her reconnect with herself.
Over time, something remarkable happened. Not only did she lose weight, but her anxiety reduced significantly, her overthinking diminished, and she felt happier and more in control of her life.
The most rewarding moment came when her doctor informed her that her edema was healing significantly faster than expected and her knee recovery was progressing well.
That experience reinforced what I have always believed: when we support the whole person rather than just chasing a number on the scale, the results can be life-changing.

Devanshi’s Message to Every Woman
Q. What’s one message you hope every woman takes away?
Fill Your Own Glass First
Women naturally care for everyone around them. But you cannot continue pouring into others if your own cup is empty. Choose health because you deserve energy. Choose movement because your body deserves strength. Choose nourishment because your future self will thank you.
Don’t chase perfection. Build consistency. Your body isn’t something to fight. It’s your lifelong partner.
“The goal isn’t to become smaller. The goal is to become stronger, healthier, happier and more confident.” — Devanshi Doshi
Chasing a number on the scale—it’s about creating balance. When nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and mindset work together, women don’t just lose inches; they gain strength, confidence, resilience, and a healthier relationship with themselves.
