Ingredients
- 250 gms spinach (palak)
- 2 tsp garlic paste
- 2-3 dried red chillies – broken intobits
- 2 tsp soya sauce
- 2 tsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ¼ tsp sugar
- 1½ tbsp cornflour dissolved in 1 cup water
- ½ tbsp oil
Instructions
- Wash spinach, Discard stems, keeping the leaves whole.
- Steam the spinach by keeping in a metal strainer or a colander over a pan of boiling water for 5 minutes.
- Keep the steamed spinach aside.
- Heat oil. Add garlic paste. Fry for 1 minute on low flame.
- Add the red chilli bits, soya sauce, vinegar and tomato ketchup.
- Add the cornflour paste, stirring continuously.
- Add salt, pepper and sugar. Cook till thick.
- Mix in the steamed spinach.
- Serve with boiled rice.
