Ingredients
- 2 apples of good quality
- 2 cups water, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp lemon juice, ½ stick dalchini (cinnamon)
- 2 cups apple syrup, 1½ tbsp. sugar, 2 tbsp custard powder
Instructions
- Peel apples. Cut into equal halves. Remove seeds.
- Boil water with sugar, lemon juice & dalchini.
- Add the apple pieces. Cook, covered for 3-4 minutes till apples turn soft.
- Remove the apples to a flat, round serving dish. Reserve the syrup.
- To prepare the sauce, cool ½ cup syrup. Add custard powder to this ½ cup syrup which should not be hot.
- Boil the left over syrup with sugar in a clean pan.
- Add the dissolved custard, stirring continuously.
- Boil till translucent and slightly thick. (3-4 minutes)
- Pour the sauce over the apples placed in a serving dish.
- Place a fresh cherry or a grape in the centre of each piece of apple. Chill.
