The white sauce made without fat, cutting down the calories to a great extent.
Ingredients
- ½ cup shallede peas
- ½ cup small flowerettes of cauliflower or
- 1 small potato – cut into ¼” squares
- 10-12 french beans – finely chopped (½ cup)
- 2 small carrots – cut into ¼”squares
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tsp grated cheese – optional
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper – freshly ground
- 1 tsp tomato ketchup
Instructions
- Thread beans. Peel carrots & potatoes. Cut all vegetables into small (½”) pieces
- Cut cauliflower into small flowerettes without stem.
- Wash all vegetables together.
- Remove from water & put in a pressure cooker. Add ¼ cup water & ½ tsp salt. Mix well.
- Pressure cook till the hissing sound starts. Do not let the whistle come. Remove just when the whistle about to start. Keep cooker aside.
- Mix cornflour with a little milk in a cup.
- Boil the rest of the milk in a heavy bottomed pan. When the milk boils, reduce flame & add cornflour mixture, stirring continuously. Cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes to remove the smell of cornflour. Cook till thick & coats the spoon. Add cheese & ½ tsp salt.
- Add the vegetables along with the water if any. Cook for 2-3 minute, on low flame, stirring continuously. Remove from fire.
- Add tomato ketchup & pepper. Mix well. Add more salt if required.
- Transfer to a greased borosil dish & bake in a hot oven till brown.
